We currently offer the following products:

For organizations:

  • Employer-sponsored 401(k) plans

For individuals:

  • Solo 401(k)s for self-employed individuals

We plan to expand to offer additional products, including institutional investment advising for organizational assets or endowments, individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and other services in the future.

By signing up with Just Futures, you will gain access to a Third Party Administrator (TPA), recordkeeper, custodian, and investment manager. Just Futures acts as the 3(38) investment manager, and we are partnered with a 3(16) plan administrator (Vestwell) who provides the TPA and recordkeeping.

The timeline varies depending on a number of factors, most significantly whether you have an existing plan to convert or are setting one up from scratch. If it’s a new plan, we estimate about 60 days from signing on to first payroll. If it’s a plan conversion, we estimate closer to 90 days to account for the time needed to procure information from your existing provider.

There are three types of costs associated with retirement saving: administration, investment management, and fund fees.

  • The administrative costs cover the plan administration services provided by Vestwell. The $100/$150 base fee must be paid by the employer. The $8/participant fee can be paid by either the sponsor or participant. See our pricing page for more details.
  • Just Futures takes a percentage-based fee for managing the investments. You can choose whether this is charged to the sponsor or participants.
  • Every lineup will have fund fees. These are charged directly by fund managers to participants.

We care about your data security. Vestwell’s platform meets and exceeds the 2021 DOL RK guidelines. They have passed a SOC-2 audit with an unqualified opinion, which is the best outcome you can receive. You can read more about their security approach here.

Just Futures clients will have dedicated support from both Just Futures and Vestwell. Sponsors and participants will have access to support via email or phone during business hours.

You can see a list of all payroll partners here. Even if your payroll provider is not listed, Vestwell provides a simple submission tool that allows you to upload payroll easily each pay period.

Vestwell sends the notices and required disclosures to participants by email.

With Just Futures, year-end testing is nothing to be stressed about. Our 3(16) partner Vestwell will walk you step-by-step through what information you need to confirm or provide, and then will complete the filing for you. The process is automated through their platform.

The truth is that any firm who is investing in the public markets is likely investing in companies that individuals could see as out of alignment with their values. Just like our peers, we are limited by the options available, and many of those options have no real accountability when it comes to social impact. With that in mind, we have undertaken a rigorous process to try to bring you the best investment options screened with a social justice lens. We are happy to answer any questions you have about our screening process.

Additionally, we hold ourselves accountable through our 30% ownership by social movement groups, who sit on our board of directors and our investment committee.

In short, yes: values alignment is a consideration in selecting every fund, but it is not the only one. As part of our process for selecting funds, we consider a range of criteria including cost, risk-adjusted performance, and more.

Participants investing with Just Futures have the option to set their own asset allocations based on our list of funds.

At this time, Just Futures is offering one suite of investment options to clients. We believe in taking an intersectional approach that considers racial justice, climate justice, gender justice, and other lenses in concert with each other.
