Alex Saingchin is a multi-disciplinary change-maker with over 25 years of experience supporting movements for racial, social, and environmental justice. His experience includes grassroots organizing, impact litigation, and public policy advocacy.

Alex’s most recent work centers on raising and deploying millions of dollars in philanthropic and impact capital to support movement-led priorities towards systemic change, including senior leadership roles at the East Bay Community Foundation and the Common Counsel Foundation. At both, he helped shepherd the creation of the REAL People’s Fund – a private debt fund to support racial justice enterprises in the Bay Area. Alex also served as Board Chair for the Bay Area Justice Funders Network (now known as Justice Funders). Previously, at the San Francisco Foundation, Alex seed-funded efforts to leverage California’s multi-billion dollar Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to promote good clean energy jobs, access to public transportation, open space, and affordable housing. His past affiliations include the Restaurant Opportunities Center of NY, the NYC AIDS Housing Network (now known as VOCAL-NYC), Teach For America, American Friend Service Committee, Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund, the NJ Office of the Public Defender, and the Urban Justice Center.

Alex currently sits on the strategy and review committee for the Transformative 25, an annual list of funds, banks and initiatives that are demonstrating the power of integrated capital to reimagine the finance system to work for people and our one planet.

He holds the Series 65 investment advisor license, and is admitted to practice law in NY and NJ.
