Just Futures Announces Transitions in Executive Leadership
SAN FRANCISCO – Just Futures, a community nonprofit-owned and advised firm helping nonprofits and mission-driven organizations invest in alignment with their values, today announced an important transition in its executive leadership. In response to Just Futures’ momentum and organizational maturity, it is establishing dedicated CEO and CIO roles to maximize impact as the company scales. Previously, the CEO and CIO roles were jointly held by George Guerrero, the first person to hold either title for the firm. George Guerrero has transitioned to serve as the firm’s full-time Chief Investment Officer and Mika Weinstein has transitioned to the role of Chief Executive Officer after previously serving as Chief Operating Officer.
Since its public launch just over a year ago, Just Futures has grown rapidly, welcoming over 160 clients seeking a more just approach to investing and expanding its suite of services to include management of nonprofit reserves, foundation endowments and pooled impact funds. Both executives emphasized continuity, transparency, and open collaboration as cornerstones of this new chapter.
“When I joined Just Futures three years ago, it was just an idea—an exciting concept rooted in passion for addressing wealth inequality and challenging the financial services industry,” said Chief Investment Officer George Guerrero “Today, as Chief Investment Officer, my focus will be ensuring that our core products deliver on their promises and remain steadfastly aligned with our mission. Mika and I have built this vision together from day one, and I’m proud to continue working alongside her as we enter our next phase of growth.”
“I am deeply honored to step into the role of CEO at Just Futures,” said incoming CEO Mika Weinstein. “Our mission—making it easier for more people and institutions to access values-aligned investing that centers people and planet—remains as urgent as ever. With George focusing on our investments and myself focusing on strategic growth and partnerships, we remain committed to both performance and purpose. We look forward to deepening collaboration with our clients and partners as we continue to advance a just transition.”
Mika Weinstein, CEO
Mika Weinstein was employee number one at Just Futures and previously served as the Chief Operating Officer. Before moving into financial services, Mika worked in the nonprofit sector with a focus on prison conditions and food justice. At the PREA Resource Center, a project of Impact Justice, she helped advance sexual safety in confinement settings by leading the design and oversight of complex technical systems that powered a national audit program. She also directed the research and production of a groundbreaking report that brought national attention to the inhumane food conditions in U.S. prisons. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oregon’s Honors College with a degree in planning, public policy, and management. She holds a Master’s in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University and the Series 65 investment advisor license.
George Guerrero, CIO
George Guerrero brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to Just Futures. He has served in leadership roles across global finance, investments, strategy, and operations at Fortune 500 companies. Previously, George was a founding officer of AXA Funds Management Group, manager of over $100 billion in client assets. He also held senior roles at AXA Group, including Investor Relations Officer and business line CFO for the U.S. wealth management and life insurance divisions.
At True Link Financial, George built a tech-enabled platform serving nonprofit organizations and grew assets under management to $1 billion in six years. A David Rockefeller Fellow, he has partnered with leaders across business and the nonprofit sector to drive positive change. George holds an undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton and an MBA from New York University.
